Savvis and Eris Exchange Announce Low-Latency Connectivity Deal

Partnership provides a range of options for firms accessing interest rate swap futures on leading exchange for interest rate risk management.

The deal means that co-location with Eris Exchange’s trading infrastructure is available in Savvis’ NJ3 and CH4 data centres in New Jersey and Chicago. The company also offers cost effective low-latency connectivity across its global network from NJ3 to other locations.

Eris Exchange is accessed via the company’s proprietary SwapBook trading platform and BlockBox trade reporting portal. Savvis already provideshisting and infrastructure for a range of liquidity venues which include traditional equities and derivatives exchanges, as well as alternative trading venues such as dark pools and crossing networks. The addition of Eris Exchange offers a significant enhancement to its trading ecosystem.

"Eris Exchange offers unique benefits to swap end-users seeking to tap new liquidity pools and maximize capital efficiency in anticipation of the Dodd-Frank clearing mandate," said Michael Riddle, chief operating officer for Eris Exchange. "Savvis Markets Infrastructure connectivity provides a broad and flexible range of IT infrastructure solutions for trading participants seeking to access our markets."

Savvis provides a range of infrastructure solutions for the financial services industry, ranging from proximity hosting for trading platforms to flexible grid computing platforms for risk management applications. Commenting on the new partnership global head of financial services Varghese Thomas said: "We welcome Eris Exchange into our global community of trading ecosystems. As trading firms look to diversify their strategies and regulatory changes create new opportunities for alpha-generation, new liquidity venues will find a ready market of firms wishing to connect and trade."
