Hub at 60 Hudson Street, New York provides low-latency trading connectivity to global markets.
As the entry point into the US for all trans-Atlantic network cables and the connecting location of more than 500 networks, the 60 Hudson street building is one of the most important carrier centres in the world. According to Perseus, its presence at the address will bring significant advantages, allowing the company to offer the fastest access to global networks including trans-Atlantic, trans-Pacific, trans-continental and Latin America.
Commenting on the new hub, Perseus chief executive Jock Percy said: "With the increasing importance of interconnection and speed in today's trading environment, having a data hub which provides low-latency connection that is quicker, even by microseconds, is mission-critical by giving traders a competitive edge.”
Perseus’ acquisition of the space adds to the company’s presence in the building, where it already has a small point-of-presence data centre. A number of major financial services technology providers also call 60 Hudson home, including IPC, CFN and LiquidityBook. Reports indicate that Perseus has a financial services firm installed at the new location as anchor tenant, but it has not divulged its identity.
"This is perhaps the world's most fiber rich and interconnected building," said Perseus chief operating officer Andrew Kusminsky. "From our new data centre, we can get to 196 countries." The company’s initial lease on the space is in excess of 10 years and includes the option to expand data its data centre capacity as the need arises.
