According to new tests, FSMLabs TimeKeeper time synchronization software and the Solarflare SFN5322F Dual-Port 10GbE Precision Time Synchronization Server Adapter achieved a 300-nanosecond distribution accuracy.
Three separate, logged, multi-hour runs were carried out by FSMLabs using Precision Time Protocol in a plug-and-play mode and standard configuration to make the benchmark measurement.
Commenting on the results FSMLabs chief technology officer Cort Dougan said: “The test with Solarflare was required by a highly competitive firm, and these results clearly support their trading strategies. TimeKeeper provides many additional benefits to trading operations, including fastest time delivery into application software, multi-time source management, and performance logging across the network. But time precision in the sub-microsecond range is the foundation requirement, and this is unquestionably available in this configuration."
Solarflare vice president of solutions marketing Bruce Tolley added: "Solarflare enables its customers to build the highest-performance, lowest-latency, and most scalable 10GbE networks in the industry. For aggressive trading firms using every technological advantage, our SFN5322F and its onboard Stratum 3 clock are best in class for data transport with high-precision synchronized clocking,"
